Bro
Getting to 405 by January could be possible but it will be tough. I think hitting 385 is a more realistic goal, you have two months. Still, 370 is very impressive and it’s smart to appreciate your progress so far thumbs up
I might be cautious in my approach, but pushing the 405 target might be better set for 2025. But ultimately, you are the one making this happen, so shoot high if you want.
Great job and good luck,
Phil Sidock
@Levi
What’s wild is I just hit 350 two weeks ago
That is great! I just don’t think you can keep adding 20 pounds each month or two without something extra though, haha.
Good luck!
I miss lifting heavy weights. At 39 years old and after two chest injuries, I am scared to bench more than 225-245
Do it while you still can
Have you tried the smolov jr program? Once you get to 375-380 I’d recommend running a 3 week cycle of smolov jr. That might help you reach 405
Did the bar touch your chest too? Good job my friend

No concerns about safety. Humans are not made of glass.
This is not a technique check post. Please ask before giving advice, as mentioned before.
I remember being a freshman on the weightlifting team. I was 5’10 in the 125lb weight class. The first meet had a kid who was 5’3 at 125. His first bench weight was 315.
His final lift for bench was 405. These were pause benches. We were both 15 years old.
