Looking for some advice on the Marcy home gym setup

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice. I bought a Marcy 988 home gym during the middle of COVID, but recently had to move and disassembled it to fit in my van. Unfortunately, it seems like I’ve lost the box with all the nuts, bolts, and screws, although I still have all the main parts of the machine. I checked Marcy’s website for replacement parts, but they only offer cables, cords, and larger components, which I already have. Does anyone know where I can get just the nuts, bolts, and screws? Thanks!

Most nuts, bolts, and screws come in standard sizes.

If you can locate the instructions online, you should be able to determine the specific sizes needed, and then buy them from a hardware store.

That’s a brilliant suggestion, thanks a lot!

This might not be the answer you’re looking for, but loop resistance bands can serve as a complete home gym at a much lower cost.

Thanks for the suggestion! I do have some resistance bands, but I also want to make use of my Marcy set, which is why I asked the question here.

I prefer using chairs over stairs because they allow for a deeper range of motion, while stairs can be limiting. Just be cautious not to overextend, and you’ll likely need to push yourself to “failure” since you’re primarily relying on your body weight.

I like using chairs instead of stairs because they enable a greater range of motion, whereas stairs can restrict you. Just be careful not to overextend, and you’ll probably have to work to “failure” since you’re mainly using your body weight.
