Try to do at least two to four sets per muscle group in one go. Then focus on a different muscle group later. Performing a few sets throughout the day is definitely better than doing nothing at all.

Make sure to prioritize the larger muscle groups before focusing on the smaller ones.
As others have mentioned, spreading out your workouts can reduce intensity. However, training to failure multiple times a day has been shown to be more effective for increasing strength. So, if your goal is to progress in that way, your approach could actually be optimal.
That approach is known as “greasing the groove,” and it’s excellent for improving muscle endurance and increasing reps. However, it’s not as effective for muscle growth and strength.
I use a couple of 30 lb dumbbells in the same way, and it works well. The advantage of living alone is that you can leave all your workout equipment out in the middle of the room and do sets whenever you want.
It’s likely better to have one workout session. If you have 2-hour rest periods between sets, your workouts might not be intense enough.
