Hello everyone! I’m looking for some at-home workouts to help me gradually lose some belly fat and love handles. I’m a 26-year-old male and work around 70 hours a week, so I don’t really have time for the gym (even though I know I could make it work, I just don’t have the mental energy). I want to do some exercises at home, either after work or before heading in. I’m 6’1" and about 245 pounds; my stomach is just “thick”—I’m not overweight, but I’m not slim either, and those love handles are my least favorite feature. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
To be honest, weight loss primarily occurs in the kitchen. If you’re aiming to lose a few pounds, you should focus on getting diet advice first, especially since time is limited for you. Exercise can definitely help, but if your diet isn’t on point, you won’t reach your goals.
I use an app called Hevy that allows you to create routines you can do at home from a huge selection of exercises. The free version lets you save up to four routines. I’ve set up one for a quick 15-minute full-body workout that resembles a HIIT class with minimal downtime between sets (15-30 seconds, which you can adjust in the app). The other three routines focus on upper body, lower body, and core, each lasting 30 minutes. The app is really user-friendly; you just choose the exercises you enjoy and set your parameters.
Simply purchase a set of loop resistance bands. I use the Weller app for my workouts.
