Workout equipment for small spaces

Hey everyone! I work from home and would love to incorporate some form of exercise throughout my day.

I’ve considered getting a desk treadmill, but my office space is tiny and I don’t have an available outlet.

I’ve come across a small elliptical stepper, which actually looks promising due to its size and ability to function without electricity, but I’ve never used one. Another idea is a rebound trampoline LOL - I don’t really have space for this but it looks fun.

My space is incredibly tiny, so I have a hard time doing any pilates/yoga/dance videos. I go for walks during the afternoon, but I’d love to find something I can do in short intervals while I’m working.

Any ideas?

How about some resistance bands, you can do all kinds of workouts

I have some resistance bands actually! Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t really know how to effectively use them so I’ll do some searching.

Find a video on YouTube and follow along. It will feel awkward at first but once you do it a few times you will get the hang of it

If you go already for walks why do you feel the need to walk also while working?

Walking is almost an automatic movement but anything else would be difficult to do and not lose concentration.

If you want to lose weight it’s far easier to do intermittent fasting or fasting.

If it’s for cardio, walk faster when you do or start doing short HIIT sessions.

I don’t go everyday, it depends on the weather/vibe of the day. I don’t live very close to trails and my neighborhood isn’t pedestrian friendly, so it would be nice to have something at home for those days.

While I would love a walking/work setup, I don’t have the space for it. I’ve considered a desk bike or something similar. I’m more so looking for something I can use for 20-30 minutes each day during a break.

Bands, kettlebells, adjustable dumbbells, pull-up bar, and jump rope. All of these take up minimal space and offer amazing results.

Here is an article I came across which may help. Link to article

I put a spin bike behind my desk and adjustable dumbbells, and used the zoom/teams software to blur my background. There are even apps to do artificial background if that is a concern.

I had a coworker that would do calls from a treadmill. He had a small stand that he wheeled up, put his laptop on, and away he would go. Just walking and talking or listening. Just for the non-important meetings and stuff, though.

There are tons of body weight workouts you can do as well.

One mat. 1-3 resistance bands (higher weight). One kettlebell. Two dumbbells. You can do tons of things with those items. Tons! Cheap and free content all over Instagram and YouTube. I can recommend weights if you give some bio data like height, weight, and anything to show your fitness capabilities and goals.

If it’s that tiny of a space, any treadmill or similar will make it even tinier. I’d go with body weight exercises. A kettlebell, resistance bands, or even a TRX system are good, too.
