I’m 6 ft tall and barely 150 so I’m on the skinny side but I do want to get a little more defined in the abdominal area and get rid of some of my stomach fat to flatten my stomach and eventually get abs. Will I eventually see progress like I’m going to the gym if I do 200 sit-ups and push-ups a day? Of course not all in one sitting but throughout the day make that my goal.
No. Number is not important, effort is. You should train sets to failure and decrease bodyfat.
You can’t spot reduce fat, only get skinnier as a whole. It’s much easier to get skinnier by changing diet/lowering calorie intake than it is to burn calories. Any exercise is better than no exercise but diet will be easier for sure. If you want your abs to show, most of it comes down to lowering body fat %, the small bit besides that is training your abs (progressive overload better than just sit-ups/bodyweight but rather some than none again).
You will see some changes as your body adapts to that stress. Overtraining is a thing you can run into if you’re pounding one particular exercise over and over again so an at-home full body routine is likely a better approach for looking and feeling great long term. For a good ab workout follow along; I’ve used athleanX 10 minutes abs on YouTube so I’d strongly recommend checking it out and using it a couple of times a week for ab development.
You’ll need a balanced physique. By just doing high rep push-ups, you might get good chest, shoulders, and triceps but your back would be weak and you’ll have uneven posture. Add pulling movements like pull-ups or chin-ups, inverted rows, and back extensions. Also add lower body movements like squats, lunges, and glute bridges. All these are compound movements which will help you gain a good amount of muscle.

I’d focus first on nutrition, what do you eat?
I wouldn’t say I eat unhealthy but I don’t eat healthy. I eat twice a day normally with some snacks. I eat out mostly every day but not fast food. I fluctuate between 148 and 152 pounds mostly.
@Kingsley
Abs are made in the kitchen. You’ll get stronger for sure but you’ll never get visible abs without eating leaner.
It won’t hurt and it will change your body. As you get into it, find ways to increase the intensity like hand positioning and incline for push-ups. Hope you can stick to it.
