Hi! I’m looking for a good workout program to help with weight loss. I’ve been pretty inactive for the past two years and want to get back in shape. My stamina isn’t great at the moment, so I’m looking for a home workout that can help me out. I have a mat and some weights for equipment.
Do you have any recommendations? I tried starting at the gym, but it causes me a lot of anxiety since I’m not feeling great about myself right now. I’d prefer to begin getting in shape at home.
You lose weight when you consume fewer calories than you burn each day. Exercise, including brisk walking, can help accelerate weight loss, but without controlling your diet, it’s nearly impossible to shed pounds. The human body is very energy-efficient, using minimal fat for a lot of activity—such as burning 500 calories in an hour of exercise, which is about the same as not eating a bag of chips. Avoid processed foods, limit carbs and vegetable fats, focus on high protein and moderate animal fats, or try intermittent fasting or extended water fasting.
For home workouts, consider using loop resistance bands, which are very effective. I use the Weller Powerband along with the Weller Band app.
