Push-ups versus dumbbell exercises without a bench

I hope this is the right place to ask. I have PowerBloc weights that I got for free, but I don’t have a bench. I’m concerned that without a bench, my elbows won’t have enough range of motion as I’m on the floor.

In this case, are push-ups better since my arms can extend further back? Or am I overthinking this?

A greater range of motion is more stimulating. By the way, consider trying loop resistance bands since they don’t require a bench.

Push-ups also demand a lot of self-discipline. If you use dumbbells correctly, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Self control? More than weights? What do you mean?
