I need some help
I’m wondering if anyone has tips on how to gain muscle or fat. I’m 5’1 and weigh 110 pounds. I want to get fit at a young age, especially focusing on building muscle and glutes. Right now, I don’t go to the gym because I’m nervous about being judged as a beginner. My current at-home workout includes: 100 squats, a ten-minute abs workout video, 5 sets of 12 reverse lunges, 100 weighted squats, and 10 sets of 12 Bulgarian squats.
Hey, don’t worry, nobody at the gym will judge you. In fact, many people might be willing to help you with your exercises and technique. That’s what I’ve seen.
As a beginner, I suggest starting with home workouts. Trying out different routines will help you find what you enjoy. I’ve had great success with my home workouts, increasing strength, endurance, and witnessing positive physical changes. For building your glutes, focus on workouts specifically targeting them.
A key aspect of starting a workout routine is to maintain a healthy diet. Eating nutritious foods is essential to help you reach your fitness goals.
It might be tough at first, and you could feel sore, but don’t let that discourage you. The soreness will ease up over time, and you’ll feel great as you see results.
Best of luck!
From what I see, you should look into hypertrophy training, which focuses on gaining muscle. Make sure to do exercises that apply deep stretch tension and progressively overload. Stick to a strict diet as well if you aim to gain weight. I can’t share too much right now, but you can explore more here:
Hey Emily, if you’re still interested, try checking out Hit Play Fitness program/App. It offers female-only home workouts that are 30 minutes long, and you can text a coach through the app. The workouts are guided, and there’s a weekly forum where you can connect with other members. The program focuses on quality and support. It includes some lifting, band work, cardio, mobility, core exercises, and more.
You just need some elastic bands from Amazon and a couple of dumbbells. You can do it all from home until you feel more confident with your form. The coaching support is really helpful!
It’s super convenient to just open the app and hit start—it’s fun too! It costs $39 a month, but with all the support and quality of workouts, it’s worth it if you’re serious about staying committed. I’d highly recommend Hit Play over free or cheap apps that can be overwhelming without proper mentorship.
