How many of you actually do ab workouts

I’m in a cutting phase, but I still have a long way to go before my abs show clearly. I don’t see much point in training them yet since they aren’t a limiting factor for other lifts. I’ll focus on them more when they’re visible, but since I’m mainly lifting for aesthetics, I concentrate more on muscles that I can see. I train them once or twice a week with weighted crunches.

I do weighted crunches on the machine and leg raises in the Roman chair. Just started doing them a month ago and I already see a difference.

I do hanging leg raises, planks, and side planks twice a week.

I fit in ab exercises between other sets. I mix it up with leg raises, kneeling cable crunches, the ab roller, decline sit-ups with weight, holding my legs up and moving side to side with weight, and then this wobbly exercise where you hold a dumbbell in one hand and sway from side to side to hit the obliques (not sure what it’s called).

@Zan
I do something similar! Maybe not every workout, but in between lifts. I think those are just called side bends (weighted).

That’s right! I can never remember the name side bends. Thanks! They also give the shoulders a nice pump for some reason if I use heavy enough weight. I’m not sure they’re actually growing them, but they definitely swell.

I work on abs to give other muscle groups I’m focused on some rest. On push days, I’ll do a couple of triceps exercises, then an ab exercise, followed by another triceps move, and so on. Abs recover pretty quickly.

I have one core exercise I really like, and the rest of my training is just core bracing—LOL.
